Qigong (pronounced "chi gong") is an ancient practice developed thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves gentle exercises designed to optimise energy (qi) within the body, mind, and spirit. Through poses, movements, and breathing techniques, Qigong promotes a healthy flow of energy and helps reduce stagnation.
When we move our bodies in this particular way, it aids in circulating blood and oxygen throughout the body, nourishing and stimulating internal organs and tissues, and supporting healing. Focusing on the breath and movement, Qigong quiets the mind, reduces stress, and eases anxiety.
Overall, regular Qigong practice improves your wellbeing by strengthening and flexing the body, boosting the immune system, lowering blood pressure, and regulating the nervous system. It enhances the body’s resilience to stress and helps promote a balanced, healthy life.
Qigong also plays a powerful role in releasing stagnant energy within the body. Left unaddressed, this stagnant energy can lead to pain, illness, and fatigue. By encouraging the smooth flow of energy, Qigong supports self-healing and restores balance, helping you feel more vital and at ease.
